Earl's Marina is a family owned and operated establishment for over 40 years that grew out of the pure love of boats and the sea. In 1958, Earl H. Herbert began our marina in its original location on West Island. We are fortunate to be situated in one of the most beautiful and exclusive areas in South Eastern Mass. Earl H. believed in this marina offering its patrons access to the boating destinations of Oak Bluffs, Woods Hole and Cuttyhunk with complete privacy and tranquilly. He created our marina from scratch with his own two hands and during the summer months slept in the main building every night to insure its safety.

Earl H.'s son, Earl W. Hebert, worked along side his father every season and learned all aspects of the marina business. In 1973, Earl W. assists his father in upgrading and modernizing the docks and base of the marina. He also knew that a quality marina was like operating a farm, it needs 24 hour care and is a large commitment to its owners. His love of boats and belief in providing the highest quality in customer satisfaction was carried over from his dad.

After 1983 when Earl W. took over as the owner of Earl's Marina, constant upgrading and growth occurred every year. He incorporated the business in 1984. The marina is fully Hurricane ready with a detailed procedure in case of any warnings. Earl's son, Dave W. began working in the marina since he was 12 years old. He was trained for three years as the manager and now owns the marina. He protects every boat docked here and runs the business as proudly as his father and grandfather.
